i do IT for almost 3 decades. iam aware how case manufactuer name their bays.
there it make sense. for your products IT DOESNT
you have a very different product than a PC Case so it makes no sense to apply the same terminology.
a harddrive dock is a peripheral, that can be either INSIDE or OUTSIDE a case.
most product nowadays are external, as in outside the case, USB, Thunberolt, SCSI, whatever.
your internal products are converters.
and they are by definition always internal. show me an external converter iam waiting.
its like adding internal to a ram kit, or a CPU, yea well id expect each of them to be internal
on the other hand you do have real external - as in outside a pc case - devices.
this is bad for you and the customer. its a bit annoying to search for external devices and then siff trough your entire product line to find the real external devices. even worse all your internal docks come up at every second google search.
sorry the terminology makes no sense and will confuse people than you can imagine.
and people like me just get annoyed a touch to not beeing able to find new real external products so i dont even look anymore
