Hi, new here.
I've had one MB971SP-B for a few years which I've been using with many types of hard drives. Recently it's been mostly 2 and 4TB drives from Seagate. The caddy worked flawlessly. I could swap my drives with no problem, never even had to do a reset. In fact, I liked this product so much that recently I went out and bought me a second MB971SP-B. A quick question here: is the one that I bought a month ago identical to the one I've had for about 4 years? Or was the circuitry or the ROM modified in any way?
So, I got this Seagate Archive 8TB drive a couple of weeks ago. It simply does not go online until I do a hard reboot. Once I reset, Window (7) recognizes it and it works flawlessly. In the specs of the MB971SP-B it says: 10TB support. So what's the deal here? Is it this drive or is this a common problem with the larger capacity disks?
Next to the SATA connectors the Seagate 8TB has what appears to be jumpers. Maybe the solution lies there.
Anyway, my MB is: Asus P8P67PRO.
I'm really hoping that something can be done regarding this issue.
