First of all I have been using ICYDock kit for years and I love the thought that goes into the designs as well as the quality in the construction.
I recently purchased a MB324SP-B and, having fitted it was really impressed by how easy it was to install and how good it looked in the system. When I needed to increase the storage capacity of my system I purchased another MB324SP-B, from a different reseller (because it was slightly cheaper) and installed it directly below the first. Unfortunately, there is a difference between the two in that the first one only illuminates the LEDs on disk activity, whereas the newer one has constant LED's except for when the disks are active. Upon reading through the documentation (something I only ever do as a last resort) I discovered that it actually states that the newer one is functioning as intended and the original is not.
However, I actually prefer the mode of operation of the original and would much prefer the newer one to work the same way with the LED's off by default. In vain hope I purchased yet another one from the original supplier hoping that this was a batch fault and that I could get a second one with the same 'fault'. No such luck. The latest one behaves as the second one.
So, my question is: is there a way to convert the operation of the LEDs to illuminate on activity and be off by default? I am happy to do a bit of soldering of the surface mount components on the backplane if that's what it takes but I would prefer something easier.
Many Thanks, Mark
